Why Claire Can’t Keep Her Social Medias?
Harassment, Relationships, and the Cost of Being Online, Claire's New X.

"Girls, I want to ask you something honestly. Would you sabotage someone, even if it gains you nothing? Would you harass someone you’ve never even known?"

Just two days ago, my duo partner, Rebecca, and I discovered that both our X and Instagram accounts had been suspended for “inauthentic behavior” within 24 hours of each other, right after we wrapped our Hong Kong tour. Rebecca was fortunate enough to recover her X account, but I have little hope of getting either of mine back. It was the first time I had lost both accounts at once, and it left me feeling deeply uneasy and it is not because of potential outreach. Without them, I suddenly had no way to reach out to other girls in the industry or stay connected with the friends I’ve made over time.

This is not the first time this has happened to me. Since June 2025, three of my Twitter accounts, with 6.2k, 2.1k, and 2.9k followers, have been suspended after repeated user reports (I received emails on which tweets were reported, and the fact that they reported my main). On top of that, my Instagram accounts, which had 6.2k followers, was suspended for “inauthentic behavior”, a decision that felt like a death sentence, with no meaningful chance to appeal.

To the best of my knowledge and conscience, I have never wronged or offended any of the girls in this industry. As for the one person I mention below, I will grant you the courtesy of anonymity and refrain from disclosing your identity. However, should I experience further harassment of this nature, that courtesy will be withdrawn. You know that I never did anything to you, which may be why you are afraid to tell the full story. I am writing this here to document what happened. At the very least, I hope you do not forget your role in it.

I have consciously chosen to let go of the hurtful things you have done to me for the past year, but that does not mean I will remain silent in the face of repeated harassment. I will not assign blame without evidence; however, I will present the facts.

Introduction

How It Started

How It Started

In December 2024, Girl A met up with Rebecca. At the time, Rebecca and I didn’t know each other, we just happened to both be working in Singapore. During their meeting, Girl A asked Rebecca, “Since you are in Singapore, have you met Claire? How does she look like? Do I look as pretty as Claire? She’s so stuck up... she only wants fine dining,” followed by, “I wrote on my website that I’m not like other skinny Asian girls who starve themselves!  That was meant to throw shade at Claire.” (For context, this is far from accurate. I once had two portions of Michelin omakase simply because my date wasn’t feeling well.) She then began giving Rebecca backhanded compliments.

Rebecca was understandably taken aback. She had met up with someone she didn’t know, only to be pulled into gossip about another person she had never even met. That was my first experience of harassment. I didn’t even know Girl A existed until later, when Rebecca and I connected. She asked me, “Do you know this girl? She doesn’t like you, she feels rejected because you didn’t apply to her clients’ duo email.” The truth is, I had never even received such an email in the first place.

Later on, she sent an anonymous email to my former duo partner, another girl, seemingly to provoke her into sharing more personal information about me. In it, she wrote, “Of course Claire is number one in Singapore: she’s younger, prettier, and smarter than you. She can make your retirement dream come true; we all have her to thank for that,” along with, “You’ve toured too much. You’ve earned enough, you should stop.”As ridiculous as this may sound, every word here is original. If the harassment continues, I will share the email evidence.

When confronted by Rebecca, she denied sending it. However, the account’s login data traced back to two of her personal devices, the same ones she had with her when she met Rebecca in person.

How It Evolved

How It Evolved

Shortly after I completed my first successful Hong Kong tour in July 2025, my Twitter account with 6.2k followers was suspended due to a user report. Later, after I shared what had happened on another account, that second account was also suspended (and such post was reported, according to the email X sent me). And as you already know, following my recent Hong Kong tour with Rebecca, both of our X and Instagram accounts were suspended.

Rebecca later raised her suspicions on X, especially after receiving a series of fake bookings for Hong Kong. These messages were not only designed to extract details such as her hotel, dates, and schedule, but also to entrap her with statements that, if screenshotted, could have gotten her deplatformed from payment processors.

Shortly after, Girl A’s duo partner : Girl B, suddenly spammed Rebecca long messages, public and private in two languages, insisting that everything was “just the algorithm,” that no one had reported anything, and that Rebecca was overreacting. This came completely out of the blue. I will not comment on that further, in order to remain objective.

At that point, I didn’t know who Girl B was until Rebecca showed me her profile. When I looked at it, I noticed that many phrases appeared to be directly copied from my website. I was uncomfortable and stopped reading because I didn’t want to upset myself further. However, Rebecca encouraged me to continue, pointing out that almost everything, except for the “About Me” section, seemed to mirror my site, including the format, sections, and even lingerie styles.

For context, my work has been copied before, but usually it was limited to wording. When I reached out to the lady who copied my work, it always resolved respectfully. This situation felt different. It was the combination of events that led me to decide to speak about it publicly on Instagram.

About an hour later, my Instagram account was banned. Again, I am only documenting the facts.

Why Claire Needs Social Media

Why Claire Needs Social Media

For those who know me, I am actually a very simple and private person, and in many ways quite introverted. I have never liked sharing too much of my life online. Like, there are many pieces from my personal fashion collection that I have never posted.

When my account was banned that same day, I felt completely drained. But then one of my clients messaged me and said, “I am so sad, I was hoping to see more posts about our trip.” That message stayed with me. It made me realize that I had not even shared the beautiful meals we had together, or the special moments we spent, or even the lovely lingerie I had received.

I was honestly burnt out, and I did think about giving up on social media altogether. But hearing that meant a lot to me. It reminded me why I started sharing in the first place.

Because of that, I have decided I will not give up. Even if my accounts are taken down again, I will keep starting over from scratch. What made me happy about having a larger following was never the numbers, it was seeing how much people appreciated the effort that went into the experiences I shared. And in turn, that appreciation brought happiness to the people who made those moments possible as well.

Scarcity Mindset and Compeition

Scarcity Mindset and Competition

Why Claire Needs Social Media

As someone of Japanese ethnicity with Western upbringing, it is disheartening to see how underdeveloped the Asian market still is, while at the same time witnessing so many girls undermining one another or engaging in unethical behavior. I have told my girlfriend Rebecca many times that I sometimes envy the Western market, where success does not as often lead to others trying to tear you down, and where people are more able to maintain their platforms and grow.

My genuine hope for the girls here is that we move away from this scarcity mindset and stop harming others without reason. This is not an isolated incident, and Rebecca and I are not the first to experience it. Letting go of that mindset would not only improve the environment for everyone, but would also benefit your own career and many other aspects of your life.
